i MIGHT be getting a 200-4r out of a Monte SS an 87 i think

What code is this 200? i know its not a BFR. will that be fine?

also its come with a B&M 2000-2200 stall converter, can i get by with that or should i get a stock D5?

the tranny has been rebuild with some decent stuff and i THINK i can get it for like 250. i just gotta order the xmember torque arm and driveshaft UNLESS the stock GTA torque arm will bolt to a TTA xmember, i'd say it wouldn't but ya never know

BTW if i get this tranny i think i'll be ordering bruce's shift kit :)

Should be a "CZ" code. Good core too.

If you get that tranny, use a stock D5 convertor if you dont have money for a 9x11, Precision Industries, Yank or Art Carr.
Those B&M convertors are not all that great and the stall you posted would be too low. The stock Monte SS convertor is a D5 and is identical to the Buick D5.
You should also consider upgrading the servo at the same time, since the Monte has dramatically smaller unit. The bare minimum should be a stock 86-87 BRF servo if not Bruce's Super Servo.
As far as the torque arm and crossmember, I would just spend the money and get a Spohn. Dont waste your time with the factory stuff. People usually want way too much for those pieces and they are no where near as good as the after market stuff.
You might also have a discrepency with the driveshaft, but you should be able to easily rectify that with a stock drive shaft from an 82-85 F body that had a TH200c transmission as they have the same yoke and the same length as a TH2004r.
One other detail is to make sure you swap your tv cable as the turbo cars use a different cable compared to the cable the Monte SS tranny has.

ok, i'll find a D5 then :)

ok, i'll probably get that as well if/when i order the shift kit

i agree thats why if i do get this tranny Mr Spohn will be getting a call :)

yeah the DS is different, so i'll ahve to get that...as far as the TV cable...what should i do? the TV cable from the 700r4 worked just fine...the only thing i had to get was the cable from the gas pedal to the TB, the V6 ones are different than the L98...

thanks for the info! if there is anything you can add please post it! :)

The tv cable from the 700 will work in the 2004r if it has worked well already. So that wont be an issue for you.
As far as the convertor goes, I might have one for you depending on when you are ready to do the swap. I will be swapping my father's Monte SS over within a month or so and will have a low mileage D5 to sell.

its gonna really depend if i can get this 200-4r, its already built and faily cheap, a friend of a friend is selling it, cause honestly i refuse to spend 300-400 on a BFR trans that STILL NEEDS A REBUILD...if that's the case i'm sticking with a 700r4
