I recently installed a TH-400 with a trans brake. My problem is as follows.

first problem.when i engage the trans brake sometimes it will engage right away, sometimes it will roll then engage.

second problem.i can bring it up on boost as it aproaches and/or hits the 2step it will start to creep or push thru the brake.

any suggestions on the cause will be greatly apreciated.

Thanks,Nick

Sounds like direct is slipping but the root cause can be anywhere. Sealing rings on the center support, cross leaks in the case to VB, bad lip seal in direct, or maybe the trans brake solenoid is not engaging the valve completly.
Did you dual feed direct as required by most if not all t-brakes ?

I do not know any of the details about the trans as i bought it already done.it is used but supposed to be fresh.I tryed it this morning and it worked.Im starting to think the selonoid might be on the fritz.

any more input would be apreciated.

Thanks,Nick

the only thing that makes me think it could possibly be the selenoid is the fact that it does work properly sometimes.i would think i leaky valve body or seal would be all the time.no?

Nick,

Problem solved.the selonoid was coming apart.a few of the screws holding it together came loose.I tightened everything up and it is performing great.
thanks for all the replies.
