Trans Dip stick

When I bought my car it shifted perfect. Long story made short, rewbuilt engine now 700 miles later the trans shifts funny. I was told by the engine builder that the trans fluid was way over full on the dipstick. Is it possible that the wrong dipstick is in the car and sits too deep inthe trans. That would show normal on stick but actualy too low? Howbad is it to run overfull? If the trans is going out will it go faster if I over fill the fluid?

I don't think so...Stick goes pretty close to the bottom of the pan. And my trans builder told me to overfill it by a quart. Keeps the filter covered on a hard blast.

I do the same and run my 200 4R 1 quart over full to keep the filter under fluid under hard accelration.

OK then I will try it overfilled by one quart and see what happens. Where at on the dipstick does it show up after putting in the extra quart?
