Trans fluid capacities??? Dry trans

Guys,
I'm hopefully putting in my trans this weekend and was wondering how much fluid I should get? The converter is a 12" and I know I shouldn't put it in dry but I was wondering how much fluid to put in the converter. I figure a dry trans has to take at least 10 quarts right? Probably 4 in that monster converter alone Any suggestions on fluid type would be appreciated too! Thanks

Put a quart in the conv. so it doesn`t start dry. Trans should hold about 11 quarts total.
