That's the identical one that I have - I had a good laugh over the instructions too...then I threw them out! Since I couldn't get the car high enough, I can't comment on how well the chain and rails would line up as I've never used the silly thing. It's under my workbench, behind two chainsaws right now.

Yep, it's useless. It's really nice in that it holds the trans very solidly when you drop it down, but as mentioned it is way too high to get the trans out from under the car. With a 4x4 atop the jack and the jack pumped all the way up there's still no prayer of getting the trans out atop the 'trans jack adaptor'. So my brother is going to help me get the trans off of the jack and out from under the car.

Another huge piece of metal to gather dust in the garage.

Place a piece of cardboard adjacent to the jack. Pull the converter out (don't forget the rags for the leaking tranny fluid). Get the converter out of the way. Lift the trans off the jack and onto the cardboard. Now slide the cardboard with the trans on top out from underneith the car.

That's exactly what we did, except for the rags (I had already drained it). I'm thinking it might be worth the effort to lift it back onto the jack adapter when I re-install it since it does provide a nice, sturdy platform.

Now the question is what to do to solve the lock up problem....
