Trans needs shift help

Is there a way to set my shift firmness and rpms? My 87's trans feels strong and shifts great and smooth, but under full throttle, it hangs out a lil bit up top and feels like its taking its time on shifts(prob a 1 sec delay) I dont hit the rev limiter or anything, it just feels like it stops pulling for a sec before it shifts. Is there a valve or solenoid to tune the shift points or firmness? Id really like this thing to rip some upshifts
