what's the best way. Car was sold out of state. I assume cashers check sent early enough to clear or even personal check if it clears. They will call tomorrow , but wanted to hear from people who have done it.
Careful with money orders and cashiers checks. Once they are made, only the person it's written out can cash it. We bought our Suburban for 14K out of state. It was simple, we called our credit card companies to let them know of our plans and, we just drew 7K cash from each at a local (out of state) bank...after inspecting the truck. When we returned home, we setup a loan, paid off the cards and no interest was charged to the cards. My wife spent more than ten years working at a bank and that was the best thing she could do to keep our money safe. Some of the problems she saw from the use of Cashiers checks and MOs is not so funny.
cashier check can be cancelled, so can bank check, and MO,or they could be fraudulent.
only sure way is wire transfer, and verify funds, before releasing the car,
if their honest, there will be no problem, if they want to rush things, be leary!

really hard to do a smooth deal into todays environment of scams .. Wire transfer or a wad of $$$$$ just make sure the $100 bills don't all have the same serial #s
Simple bank transfer..Quick and easy,Let your Bank manager handle it,Just tell the other party to contact your bank and ask him/her.It can be taken care of through the reps at each bank....That way no bank information is passed between you and a stranger.
If the other party is ignorant to the point they don't realize its the safest way of transferring funds.(Which yes...I have run across in the past,Once.)Then don't deal with them.

Just sold one to an out of state buyer. Do exactly as described above. As my buyer said, once the funds were COLLECTED in our account " you now have my car and the $." I replied "I also have the title." Everything went smooth.
