What's the difference? I don't see a translator plus on full throttle's web site. Is it discontinued?

The plus is no long being made
It allows u to adjust your timing
Only difference.
It was replaced by the gen2
I have a gen2 forsale if your interested . its an awesome

I have a gen 2 now and it's tough trying to tuck all those wires under the dash and put it back into the kick panel the way it was. Was thinking about going to the standard issue translator and my extender extreme chip. What would I be giving up if I did that? I like the option of controlling fuel at every level with my gen 2 though. Can I control fuel like that with a normal translator and extreme chip?

Extender Extreme G chip works with Tranlator Gen II only. You'd need to get the regular Extender chip that works with basic Translator only.

I wouldn't give up my Gen2 for anything and I used to burn my own chips. I also have the wbo2 fuel AFR control with it. The Gen2 gives you much more control over your fueling and timing at each 1k rpm interval, the standard Trans or Trans+ does not. I have my Gen2 module installed in the center console storage compartment between the seats along with my WBO2 meter.

I don't see an "Extreme G" chip on their website. What is an extreme g? And from reading on Full Throttle's site the chip said this:

"Designed for 55lb and larger injectors (if your injectors are 50lb. or smaller you need Regular Extreme part number 050EXTCHIP) the Extender Extreme ECM chips are designed to take advantage of the MAF Translator's (and Translator Plus) ability to measure true airflow at high horsepower levels. Instead of the factory 255gr/sec limit the stock computer can now see up to an unbelievable 767 gr/sec of air. This ability to measure all the air entering the engine gives the ECM control to properly adjust injector pulsewidth to maintain correct Air/Fuel ratios for best horsepower under all conditions. Additionally, the Extender chips feature advanced software to permit the user to adjust many parameters that were previously only adjustable by the chip programmer. Please note that these adjustments are for fine tuning only. The chip will plug in and you will be able to drive around with NO adjustments needed"

It says translator. Can I use a normal translator then?

Weird. Two different stories on two different websites. So now who's right? And they both say (both the extreme and extender chips) that you can control wide open fueling in first and 2nd gears. Why not in third and fourth gears? Why did they leave that out?

I just ordered the "Extender" chip last week from turbo tweak and I have 60lb injectors and the basic translator. If you want to run the basic translator you can use the Extender chip. Not the Extender extreme chip. If you have a Gen 2 translator you can run the Extender Extreme chip.

Extender and Extender Extreme chips can be used with regular translator.

Extender Extreme G is for the Gen2 only . It may not be listed on the website.

1st and 2nd gear fueling is programmable, WOT fueling is done with knobs on my T+.

There is some overlap with the adjustments.

Both work well, I have the T+ box on my WE4, and the GENII box on the GN.

The translator box is simpler to use in my opinion, programming of the chips is similar in action, but with different parameters for each type chip.

It shouldn't be too hard to decipher what you can and can't do with each type translator from the manuals and chip programming manuals.

Full Throttle site and forums should have most of that info. or you could call Mike Licht and have him explain it all on the phone from Full Throttle.

Keep it simple, TT chip and Translator. Much easier for you! Many, many have gone into the 11s with that combo and minimal tuning-which you need. All the adjustability of the other devices are great but just too confusing for you.

Anybody know the TCC WOT lock up speed in the extender chip? Just wondering what speed it is programmed for, "from the factory"? Locking the TCC at WOT puts extra wear and tear on the torque converter, correct?

It's user programmable. And yes, it's VERY hard on the converter clutch if it isn't built for WOT lock ups.

So if I didn't program it then it won't lock up at WOT? Reason I ask is because Dusty just cut open my converter and the clutch was trashed.

It's programmed in cell 13. Default value is 0 (WOT TCC off).
