Ready to hookup the spark timing wires but the crappy documentation is no help. I have shop manual but need to know where exactly in the engine compartment I'll make the connection. A diagram would really be nice. Thanks.

I thought the same thing, a diagram would be nice :) . I had found this thread in a search when I installed mine a week ago: http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23410

The wire to hook to is I believe its A, A2 I think, the closest white wire to the firewall. Where the harness hooks up to the coil pack. If you pop the connector there loose, it is labeled inside it -A2. The adapter kit they mentioned in the thread is expensive, so just splice, connect, and solder.

The instructions do say which wires from the Trans plus go to the ECM and the other to the coil pack. It is kind of a PITA to make the connection there with not much wire play, so be careful where you cut it. You will have to remove some of the tape from the harness. I soldered my connections there also, and rewrapped it with tape, looks stock.

My next job is to run the control unit into the center console
 .

Thanks. That should do the trick. By the way the price on the plug and play is $79.

tim87tr is the way I did mine & it worked for me with no problems.
This weekend I moved the Trans+ into the cabin & still need to reconnect the advance up - I'll connect it at the computer this time.

Be sure you open (disconnect) the orange wire at the battery before starting - hook it back up when finished. I forgot to open the wire when I moved the Trans+ & coded - had to open the wire to reset the ECM.
