Transmission binds in L, slips in D any ideas?

Transmission seems to be binding while in low/first gear. If you manually drop into low it's almost like locks up? and then seems to slip in all other gears. It has a stock converter and a shift kit in it. Transmission has a little bit of a whine sound while in N . Has strong reverse. Fluid doesnt smell burnt but is pale in color.

Pale Fluid?? Strawberry Milk pale? = Water in fluid.
Water will delaminate the Clutch friction material.

Bind may be a crossleak, seal, checkball etc..

Have you done a pressure check?

Thanks for the reply, fluid not milky just light in color. Will do pressure check, Appreciate the links.
