Transmission Cooler Install Questions

SO I finally got a trans-cooler by Longs (the biggest one they got) I was gonna install it in between the air dam and install a fam rated at 1000cfm to cool it but after talking with Donnie (and it makes more sense) I decided to install it behind the FMIC and infront of the a/c condensor. What kind of temps are people seeing when they mount it here and what temps do people see when they run it by the air dams? Also, Im still running to cooler in the radiator, but which lines is the out put line coming from the radiator since this is the line that needs to go to the trans cooler? Thanks!

Top line out of radiator to top of the new cooler. Bottom line from new cooler to your factory line.

I mounted my cooler in front of the front mount.Which I spent alot for my trans so I want to keep it cool as possible.

at the radiator top is output from trans bottom is return

on the trans the upper fitting is output , the lower return

if you wanted it as you said to go through rad then to external cooler you would want the bottom line

In front of the IC if you have the room would be ideal.

Here is how I did mine I'm sure the air would flow thru this to the innercooler better than it would flow thru the innercooler to the trans cooler.Notice the black zip ties to the grill blends in nicely.

Not sure why anybody would want the heat from the trans cooler taking away efficiency of the intercooler. I love my B&M trans cooler with the fan on it....

Yeah I did not want to spend $300 for a fan trans cooler either.In florida that much heat hits your front mount going down the road anyway.

Next time anyone is wondering which is better, mounted in the grill or hidden with just an electric fan, put your hand out the window, palm facing forward, when cruising 65 on the freeway. Then compare that to any electric fan you wish to test.

Then, you're not really working the transmission and generating a lot of heat, sitting at a stop light.
