We are putting a BRF trans in my brother Regal, which was a 307 car. The old trans was a KJF with the white connector using 3 wires. The BRF has a black connector on the trans and I know we need you get a black connector for the wiring harness because they are keyed differently. My question is, which wires do what? I know the BRF trans wiring but I dont know what the KJF wiring is or how to adapt them.

The 3 wires present in the KJF are identical to the 3 on the brf that are in the same location. The extra wire on the brf is a ground signal read by the ecm that gets ungrounded on a 2/3 shift to tell the ecm the trans has shifed into third gear.I dont see its value although it is used for timing controls.Just install a black case connector and the harness on the car will fit.The lockup wont work in 3rd gear but it really isnt a good idea anyhow in my opinion.
