Ok, probably a stupid question....is it safe to transport gas in a plastic container in the trunk of a car? The nearest gas station to my house that sells 100oct is about 30 miles away. Driving the GN there and back would probably cost me roughly $25 as 100 oct here is $8/gal.

As long as you use plastic containers I don't see why not....it's the way I go get gas for my machinery here....but I always make sure the cans are tied up tight and upright....I try to tilt them over to check for the tightness of my bungee cords I use....make sure the caps are on tight, also.......I've transported gas in plastic cans in the trunk of both Buicks and in the passenger floor of my Vette, but the utmost importance is stability of the cans....they MUST not fall over.....of course....if I'm hit by a truck, it's roast Brucie time.

Yes, as long as the "plastic container" is a real gas can and not a milk carton...

I transport gas every day, but I eat lots of beans. Never blew up on me but i've had a few complaints over the years.
