Can't beat the locaton as far line of site for gauges.

Ditto.

Whoever said the GNS pod was in the line of sight, guess that depends on the person, but I don't consider having to look down and to the right in my line of sight.

I've got my old a pillar cover that I think I'm going to try to make it work with the Lotek piece.

Thanks Bruce. I will give him a call but the guages will be going in my T not the GN ;) You have been away awhile man. We have some catching up to do. I think you should come down to GA in April and we can see who is slower. HA.

You're welcome good buddy. We do have some catching up to do. Really wish I could come down to Georgia in April but no way. At this point, I would be slower, as my GN is still up on jackstands....so you win.

How ya been? Hey, I thought you sold the T and got the GN, what's up with that? Isn't that why you bought the carpet from me? Or are you sleeping on it?:biggrin::biggrin:

Take care my good friend. Any help, just scream at me!!!

Been looking for a holster for my Barrett. Come to find out, they don't make one! Hard to conceal, too! Ever fire one of those in Iraq? What a kick!!!! Great bad guy eliminator! Would be perfect to mount on the roof of my GN!!!!!

Scream it will be :D
I wish you could make it there. We will have to line something up to get together. I sold the GN because I realized my T was ready to go and I didn't want to wait, and I really like rust free. I fired a few things over there but a Barrett wasn't one of them. Email me man and fill me in.

Will do!

So THAT'S what happened with your GN! Was wondering. When I saw those pictures of the horrible rust in the floors of that GN, I was about "floored" myself. If I recall you were looking for floorpans to have welded in. I'm so glad you kept the "T". The photos you sent me of that were just beautiful!!! That's a beautiful "T" you have, and I mean that. Even my Shirley said it was gorgeous!! Just a real beautiful car you fixed all up. And great work, too. I couldn't understand at all why you would even think of selling that thing. It's nice to hear you'll keep it. All's right with the world now!!!!

You didn't fire a Barrett??!?!? My God, I thought that was everybody's dream!!!!! What the hell? You mean all you got to shoot was that little ol' .45?? Damn, now I KNOW I'm not going to Georgia!!!!

Just my .02...

I have the 3 gauge pod. I'll post a pic in a minute. It fit ok. Not great. I thought having the gauges there would be a great idea. After having the gauges up there, I am not convinced.

Besides the non-factory quality of the pod, the small size of the gauges makes it nearly impossible to read anything- IF your TR is fast;) I cannot hang on to the wheel, watch the road, and try to decipher what the heck all the gauges are doing where they are currently positioned... I think the GNX dash is the best option but I am interested in trying out the GNS 3 gauge pod as a way to keep expenses in check.

Again, just my .02 as I have had this pod on my gn for several years...

I'd like to see that

I got the same pillar in mine it is interesting to see some other peoples setups without the gaps....

for around $100 some one could make a ruber mold off of one of those to make them out of fiber flass you could do a 2 piec mold it owuld be cheeper to make but then you have the seam to sand out and texture to worry about. with the ruber mold you wouldnt need it to be 2 piec and it would be ready to paint except the edges but that no big deal. I do it with bike parts all the time.

So how did you get the wiring in, and how did the pillar trim attach to the pillar?

i drilled a hole in the oem pillar for wiring...then one of my mounting screw holes matched to oem one...theres only one screw holding it,but between the top trim, being wedged at the bottom, there are zero issues.

My problem with the 3 pod is the sun visor hits it when you flip it down. You can't push the visor up to the glass, it has to hang straight down which is too low even for me @ 5' 6". :frown:

Mine does the same thing. Just pull the visor arm towards you before you flip it down, kinda like you are going to use it to block the sun coming through the door glass. Then flip it flat the other direction, facing the front of the car, 180 degrees, and swing it back and it will clear the gauge pod.

When someone takes a nice picture of your car it is customary to give them a gift.

I bought a 3 guage pod off ebay a couple days ago. Should be here any day. Then I saw this thread. So I guess I will attach mine over the existing A-pillar, which now has a two guage pod housing a volt guage and a knock gauge. I got my car painted and wanted to do away with the fuel pressure guage mounted on the hood, for a more stock look. Anyway, dropped $212 for an Autometer electric FP guage shipped from Jegs, plus $70 for the triple guage pod. Where does it end? I also have a gnx dash, plus two more guages down on the console.

I thought I'd add my .02 just to beat the dead horse some more. It appears that the 3 gauage pod was never meant to replace the oem A-pillar. As you all know, it leaves the wires showing, but also the screw holes don't line up with the oem holes. So it appears to me that it was meant to cover the oem trim piece. I'll be painting mine and installing it this week. Gauges are Volts, knock, electric fuel pressure.

Another method

I realize the OPs post deals with the 3 gauge pod but, I chose a different path and mounted my two favorite gauges on the steering column and the additional two gauges in front of the center console.

The dual pod is made from PVC tubing painted Presidio gray to match the interior and it's mounted with velcro which is plenty secure and has been in place for about 10 years.

I realize this might seem a little "old school" but it works well for me. I just have to drop my eyes a bit to check them and then, back on the road. :)
