Trouble codes?

Can I check for troble codes on my daughter's late model Impala the same way we do on the GNs with a paper clip? Are the codes different? If they are where would I find them? Thanks, R.B.

Complete and total shot in the dark here, but I'd assume you'd need a code reader because the car most likely has OBD-II.

It's not uncommon for auto parts stores to offer free retrieval of scan codes for you. I know for sure that Autozone out here does it.
