I am having trouble with the center support. With the thinnest selectable washer it will not seat all the way. The center support goes in all the way if I leave out the washer between it and the direct drum. With the washer in it stops in the middle of the snap ring groove in the case. I have double checked the assembly of the rear section. I am thinking maybe I have an oversized washer? How thick is the center supposrt to direct drum washer supposed to be?

Be sure that all the frictions are engaged. Sounds like one is hanging up on top of the forward drum. Never had that issue..yet...probably something simple.

Do you have a rollerized center support and trying to still use the washer? If so you dont use teh washer and if you try it wioll cause your situation.

Otherwise I would check the above mentioned friction(s) stack up out of alignment.

I am just trying to set the endplay. I do not have the frictions installed. It is a thrust washer issue. I am almost certain. I order all the selective thrust washers from ck performance several months ago. I vaguely rember him asking me if I had a rebuilt direct drum and something about an oversize washer. I think the washer I have may be oversized. I may have misplaced the standard one. Does anyone out there know how thick the standard center support to direct drum thrust washer is? So I can figure out if I have an oversize washer or not. Or if I have another problem. Thanks

Lo rev support is seated correctly and the snap ring is in? There is washer on it that CK supplies as oversize. I have always used the stock thickness here(when I don't use a roller support). Compare all of your old washers, get out the dial caliper and measure.

I have had everything torn apart for over 2 years now. I either lost or threw the old thrust washer a long time ago. So I have nothing to compare the new washer to. I think I have the oversize washer. I just need a measurement or something to compare my washer to before I decide to order another one.

That will make things tuff...but it can be done. Do you have a go manuel? CK has a great one.

the factory plastic washer that goes between the center support and direct drum is about .062"-----if you have the direct drum all the way down on the forward drum there should be close to .700 between the backs of each respective drum------if all of all this checks out you must have the output section assembled wrong and its almost certain it cannot have correct end play-------perhaps your concerns are correct about the selective washer for the output section but i would think if it were too thick the output clearance would not set up right..........RC

thanks. that is exactly what i wanted to know. i just checked my washer again and it measures .062. so i must have some other problem in the rear section. time to recheck everything and find out what happened
