I would like to know exactly what the donations pay for,Not the charity part, But what it does to help the website.
I donated last time this idea went around,But im not sure if my money towards the website went to help the website.I doesnt run any faster than it used to,and with some of the vendors banners it run slower?
Just not donating till i know where my money is going and what it is doing to help

I cannot believe the response to this thread, it has been great!

Let me thank everyone and clarify the situation. The board did not ask for donations, it is on solid financial ground and we plan to be around for a long time. I asked for ideas, one of which was to support a charity.

If we do charity donation through our board, it will require someone to just handle this project. While a good idea, it would be best if we could direct those so inclined to specific people's needs, or places needing help, like was done in Capt. Mark's thread.

What is most gratifying to the administrators and moderators is all the kind remarks and support you have shown in your appreciation of what we do and the way we do it.

I think some good ideas have come up here and other threads of this nature. It makes me very proud to be a part of this community.

I myself cannot count how many times I have run from the garage, into the house to get on-line and used the search feature to find a Technical answer I was in need of

IMO I think the best way to support this board is to buy the TurboBuick.gear

I brought my GN into Buick Dealership years ago, and the mechanic had my boost lights screwed up... so I posted a question about it, and Ken Mosher from www.gnttype.org stepped up and gave me the answers...

What gets me is that a Buick Mechanic for over 20 years made a simple mistake... and the problem was resolved by someone whom I never met...

I have never thought of adding BB like tb.com or gnttype.org to gnregistry because there is no reason to have 3 or 4 boards...

Thanks for all the help, time labor, and money spent on keeping this board going....

The hardest part seems to be the admin/moderators work that they put in, but that is my point of view

I just spoke with Bruce personally on the phone for about 30 minutes tonight.


It was the first, but not the last conversation I will have with him. He is a GREAT man and is all about the good for this board and its members.

Anyone that doesnt know him, take the time to get to know him, hes a real stand up guy!

I just received my first shirts I bought off TB.COM and must say the quality is great! Dont hesitate to buy anything, its super.
