Trying to help a fellow street rodder with 2004R problem...

Any auto trans expertise around?? Just installed my 2004R
in the Roadster(supposedly rebuilt) & I'll be dammed! There is no reverse!!
Seems to move forward ok, but when I shift into reverse it just moves ever so slighly but doesn't go anyhere... there are no unusual noises coming from the trans, but I
do have the electrical connection for the torque conv lockup disconnected as I'm going to put in a 4th gear lockup kit into it shortly. ANY IDEAS?? before I head to tranny shop?

do you have engine braking in manual low?if not you may have the low reverse case cup plug missing from the case causing no reverse and no engine braking in lo gear
