SignUp Now!This event needed a non partial RRA that was not involved with any Racer as other issues beside the car needed to be resolved
well according to the track there was a equipment malfunction....and tire smoke triggered the second beam/bulb...starting the timer....Both drivers agreed to re-run the race...Phil agreed by proxy sending someone from his crew...we gave them 30 mins to cool down to re-run the race...Jason showed up and Phil did not...again sending a proxy saying he was not going to re-run...which led to Jason taking the lights and winning the race as Phil was a no show....TSM is held at the BPG event..The BPG has nothing to do with enforcing the TSM rules..setting the ladder pairing drivers etc....According to the Track rules if there is a timing equipment malfunction then the racers need to re-run...
The only issue with the TSM race was the final being re-run. The first time the final was run, Jason rolled through the beams causing the red eye and Phil motored on to the win. Regardless of how/why Jason red lit, once the lights are activated and the tree comes down, its an official race (Ever heard the phrase "That's Racing!"?) I was not there, but apparently the BPG (v6?) race director re-ran the race and only Jason showed. So why is a non-partial TSM RRA needed?
OK, so there was a technical issue and the track officials took care of it. Please explain your comment - to which I directed my question to earlier. This event needed a non partial RRA that was not involved with any Racer as other issues beside the car needed to be resolved.

I mean C'mon - there were 5 cars there.
because if there was one there then the they could of taken care of the heated situation that eventually boiled over..the person responsible for the TSM class could of made the ruling that both drivers would have to live with...not the track not the BPG making that call. the Track and BPG allow you to run your points series there....the decision could of been made of splitting the points and the pot and calling a draw...to redo the race or to let it stand...that is what I am saying.
Nope, I respectfully disagree. The track officials erred on letting the drivers into the beams during a 'smokey situation' and the drivers' erred by entering the said beams. The track allowed them to re-run the race, the BPG did not object (right?), and the drivers agreed to re-run the race. Both drivers have "lived with it" - Jason ran and won, Phil didn't and didn't.
The "pecking order" starts with the track owners/officials - it is their playground. Next is the people paying for the track rental - all racers play by the renter's schedules, procedures, appointed directors, etc. The person in charge of a class (sometimes me for TSM) can't make anyone do, or not do, anything against the racers' wishes.
TSM racing is for bragging rights - not fame or fortune. If some people cannot play nicely, they need to grow up. I for one, am not a babysitter.

Wrong. I have no such authority. I cannot stop someone from racing his car down the track when he or she paid for the right to do so.You contradict yourself in your own post....."all racers play by the renter's schedules, procedures, appointed directors, etc. The person in charge of a class (sometimes me for TSM) can't make anyone do, or not do, anything against the racers' wishes. " ugh yeah you can...tell them they cant race
You obviously do not understand the difference between class-specific rules and procedural issues.either they play by the rules which you make them do or you cant make them do anything....... starting to sound like two sided...
For the TSM Point Series, the participants make the rules. We vote on them. I have previously told people that No, they cannot do something to their car and still be a legal TSM car/racer - even lost a friend over it cuz I wouldn't look the other way on an infraction.the wraith said:Signature says: I dont make the rules;I enforce them.... again speaking out of both sides compared to the post above...." The person in charge of a class (sometimes me for TSM) can't make anyone do, or not do, anything against the racers' wishes."
I am of the opinion that your problem is your lack of understanding the differences as noted above. Thanks for sharing your thoughts though...And you have begun repeating things in which you did not see... your not managment material..... that is the simple fact
The Class Director should be present when the Class races!!!!
Scott if you were there then you could have made the call as to what should happen...
I do not know of a way to stop the smoke from occurring, nor am I going to tell the NTR staff how to run a drag race.if a director was there, the ensuing problem would not have occurred
Why would people be asking that?at this point I have people asking that TSM not be run next year...at the BPG event...
