I just got a new TT chip for my new Alky kit from Julio to replace my old SCM system that croaked. I read a thread today on the Suspension/Tire section about tire size affecting speedometer and I remembered the question Eric asked when making a chip about Does it read the speed correctly? I didn't give it much thought so answered Probably but now I'm concerned.
I have 295 55 15 M/T Street Drag Radials which are I believe a tad over 28". the other post says a 28 vs a 26 tire is about a 7% speedometer error - 107 mph actual vs 100 reading or 53.5 vs 50 mph.
I know there is a converter lockup based on mph but will this speedometer error affect the other operation of the chip?
I know I can try and find a different tooth speedometer gear but is that necessary or will the chip work OK as is?
Thanks
