I got my heads off on my TTA right now and they are at the shop. I was wondering what i should do to them? I cant afford aftermarket heads however i work at a performance machine shop where i have full access to porting and also the tools needed to machine the head.

Basically what has been successful stock head mods for a TTA or TB in general? The valves seats are touching so bigger valves are out of the question but i dont even know whether it would benifit. I already have 100lb valve springs...

I want to make this thing faster really! I'm thinking while its torn down and also cause im getting my paycheck that i need to mod the engine farther. I dont want to do a complete rebuild yet however its gonna be helpful to have some guys at the shop who do wonders with blocks. should i put a cam in it??? Port the intake? Full roller set?

Just scouring the TB community to see what u guys have been successful with!

Also note my mods in my sig.

Stock turbo?

If so, leave the heads alone. Give them a valve job, surface them.. back on the car.

Bigger valves do fit, bigger ports will work, but in your case.. and limited tuning experience.. leave it alone.

Hopefuly you can get your tuneup fixed so it doesnt blow up anymore.. work from there.

Nope TE-44. I'm with some guys who really know how to tune it so its gonna be a learning expierence! But whats also great is we have an in house Dyno :D

Ya i hate blowing my car up it gets REALLY old REALLY fast! What valve sizes should i go with? I need new valves cause i noticed that on one set of intake valves they are flat and on the other head they are dished, GHETTO!!! Sorry this is the only pic i have to show u cause the heads are at work and im at home till monday

Polish the exhaust runners, port match the intake & head + exhaust and head, cleanup the bowls and combustion chambers, teardrop shape the valve guide boss, and backcut the stock valves. That would be plenty without getting too radical or expensive or ruining the heads. The guys at your shop will know what that all means.

how fast you lookin to go ???? high 9's low 10's ??? you are no where near to what the car can do NOW .. :p

A 44 aint ****. Leave the heads alone.. and dont dyno your car, you'll blow it up.

Stock valves, set of springs.. fresh valve job.. and whats with the blue paint

Hope you got a bigger stall for that 44..

Put a 67 MM turbo or larger.. bigger cam(roller).. then port the heads.

And spend the money on a good chip, scantool's', etc..

If there is a car I know.. its the TTA. Disprove me

I dont know of any aftermarket heads for the TTA..

Champion ports TTA stockers ... but he has connections at a machine shop

Already backcut the valves, and i will mention the rest on monday! As far as bigger turbo im always down :D right now i have a 2800 stall in the car but u got to keep in mind this my daily driver and ive already put 14000 miles on it since i bought it last year around this time. I just want more power really!

Bought direct scan and a laptop for when she gets back together and whatever i do i think im gonna go with another turbotweak kit cause its been nothing but good with them!

Problem basically comes down to budget but i dont want to upgrade the turbo to the point of lots of spool time or to the point where i have to put a ridiculous stall just to get in the powerband!

Pay day is monday so my budget becomes more clear then but basically ill have $1000 give or take towards the car
