Watch the boost on pump fuel .. you will have to keep it lower.. it will knock easier as the compression is higher

Tta is 8-2 to 1
Gn is 8-5 to 1.
Wont make a diff at all

Bullshit .. I've done a few .. it makes a huge difference .. go and try and run stock TTA boost with a GN shortblock with TTA heads on 91 octane and tell me it won't make a difference ..

Don't mislead the guy .. it will absolutely knock on 91 octane and stock TTA boost

I run 10.30's all day
93 & alky
Of course is not stock
But ive done 6 swaps
Never had 1 issue
18psi with a 44 been low 11's
93 Oct no knock no alky

I dont care what you run ...

Don't mislead the guy ...

STOCK TTA boost stock TTA / GN turbo on 91 octane with a GN shortblock TTA heads and a stock thickness headgasket will have KR .. period !

Unless you want to totally neuter the tune .. it will KNOCK

Don't tell him it won't make any difference .. IT DOES ... and no way in hell you did 6 conversions and didn't see that happening .. SORRY I'm callin BS here

Hey wtf is your problem ?

No problem .. The guy is asking what he will need and your telling him something that AINT right ... if he listens to you he will have knock city with that compression...
its not 8.2 or 8.5 ..

If he does that swap with a stock head gasket he will be right at 9:1 .. NO WAY on pump fuel with that compression and stock boost level of a TTA will it not knock..

Don't mislead him ... it will knock .. and If you really did 6 swaps you would have seen the same thing !

Just trying to save the guy issues .. he will have to lower the boost if using all the parts above.. or run a thicker headgasket to a point to offset the added compression.
Or he will have to up the octane or run alky ...
only ways around it ...

would love to see 18 psi with a 44 and 9:1 compression on pump fuel alone

The only thing would be the pistons are different. The compression will jump from 8 to about 8.8. I like the added compression with the TTA heads. You will need to run about 4-5psi less boost, but should make more power. I have run the tta heads since the early 90"s. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

.........Gn is 8-5 to 1............

The 1986-7 GN engine was rated and advertised at 8.00 to 1 compression, and during those year GM numbers were always the max and the engines we measured, V-8's and V-6's, were a point or 2 less like 7.90 to 1.
