okay am i out of tune? i have razors kit on an unopened engine that has turbotweaks alcohol chip, 60 lb. inj. , fuel pump , adj. regulator, stock turbo ,rjcplate and boost controller, big neck intercooler. fuel pressure is set at 43psi, boost at 23lbs and 1st + 2nd gear timing at 25. i get no knock. progressive controller is at #3 o2s are between 770 and 800. car moves good tires (pep boys 265/50-15) will spin at 40mph when you hit it. does it sound like i need tuning help. i am wondering because i thought setting 3 on controller is not very much. any ideas. thanks for the help. i havenot been to the track but i have a vector on my windshield that says 0-60 at 4.7 and 8.75 at 85mph in the 1/8. car gets almost sideways around 35mph . will be getting mickeys next week .

So you are saying the car is running better than you expected? I'd say you are right on the money from your description. No need to tune to correct anything, but you could always try to go faster, if you are not yet satisfied.

Damn, more fuel to the fire on my decision to get Razors kit...

Stock turbo's dont take a lot of fuel. And your using the alky as should to get your knock to zero.

The system when you turn it up will blow in a lot of alcohol, so running it at 3 is ok. It gives you room to grow :)

Once you get the sticky tires on, and get it to a track.. then you can see where your really at. At that time see if the car likes 770 or if it likes 800 for O2's through the traps. You can change your WOT fueling by putting the chip into program mode and add or substract fueling.. as adding timing.. but do when when you can get real data and dont run around with the timing jacked up..

Looking good.. Next tires.. then converter. then turbo.. then roller cam.. then aluminum heads.. then ... it never ends

cool. thanks razor. UDAMON! let me go knock that timing back down. to the batmobile wobbin. alky is cool stuff. why did i wait so long to get it.

WE4 Warrior,
Your car sounds a lot like mine. Stock engine with 166K miles on it. I do have an XFI system and a Razor's kit on it. Last Tues night, I made six passes on it at 22.5 lbs of boost and 22 degs timing, it went a 12.88 @ 105. That was with Razor's kit set at 4. It was around 9.5:1 AFR...way too rich. I'll try again next week. Your setting of 3 sounds pretty close to me. I'll let you know when I get to run again where final setting is for the stock turbo. I may even bump up the boost another pound.

Pull fuel out of your VE table to bring your AFR to 11.0-11.2 at WOT. At 9.5 your going to be in trouble. Also raise the timing to 24 degree's.

Look at your intake temps on your data logs, and watch knock(esc).

Razor,
Thanks for the help. I'll pull some more out of the VE table for sure. I just bumped the timing up to 24 and it's still happy...no knock. I'll let you know how it goes at Test-N-Tune next week.

After that, I've got a set of 65 lb injectors, a PT67 Turbo, 3" downpipe and electric cutout and a fully built 2004R w/ T-brake and a 3200 stall convertor (and a 3600 stall converter...just in case) waiting to go on the car.
