Ok, I have done the research and have decided to put one in my '85. I know I will hate life at the gas pump and it is going to suck. But, I can't afford a rebuild on the stocker right now. I don't really drive the car all that much either. I am dead set on running a turbo 350.
So here are some of my questions if you guys could help me out that would be great, thanks.
What year BOP short tail turbo 350? Does it matter?
What year crossmember out of what year cars running what tranny?
How does it work with the stock shifter and linkage?
Would a good working used turbo 350 work or should it be rebuilt?
What convertor for the turbo 350 would work best with my setup(mods in sig)? Could I get a used 350 and throw the proper stall on it without damaging the tranny? Would that hold up?
What is the best route to go............find a junk one and have it rebuilt or find a good working one, throw it in and see how long she last? I just need some ideas of what to expect from a stock used turbo 350. Thanks much, all help is appreciated!!! I got a guy here in WI that has good working 350 for $100. Seem like a low price for good stock used one?
Sorry for the book. -TIA, Nick.
