turbo elbow

im getting a bigger turbo and was wondering if a ported stock elbow will work with a non stock turbo or do i have to get a new elbow? the biggest turbo im considering is the TE 61 so would it still work?

porting the stock elbow would help some but in genneral its still a bandaid for not having a good terry houston down pipe. just my .02

well i bought a THDP from i guy on here but he ripped me off so i bought a 3inch down pipe that just bolts on to the stock elbow.
but my question was will a stock elbow work on a bigger turbo? thanks for the replys jerrad

some a hole from omaha nebraska named Mark Kadavy? he gave me an address but it wasnt real but i called western union and they said he picked up the money from omaha so he really does live there and thats his real name because you have to show a photo id

Yes the stock elbow will work with a TE61. Just make sure when you order the turbo to tell the vendor that you are using a stock elbow with a stock-sized wastegate puck, so they don't drill the hole out too big. You might have boost creep problems (boost going up 1-3 psi as you pull through 3rd gear) with the small hole and puck, but at least you will be on the road until you can get a thdp and open the hole up some more.

Want to buy my TE-61? I polished the compressor housing, and have two different turbine housings. Turbo is three months old. $500 plus shipping.

turbo has about 800miles on it. It is perfect! Bling on the compressor side, took me two hours in a dental lab with a big polishing lathe. I like turbo for street/strip, but I want a BIG one only for the strip. I'll e-mail you some pics tonight if I get a chance.

yeah, ive got the ATR 3" terry houston style downpipe with my stock turbo- works great Ed went 11.64 so far
