Have a question but its kinda hard to discribe so I will do my best I took it out today for a quick rip around my block and since iv owned it it dose the turbo flutter when you let off well when I took it out I got into boost and when I let off the turbo flutter was I guess you could say slower then it has been over the winter I put a front mount on and not noticed the waste gate selinoid had tape over the t end that was suposto be open so I took the tape off is this what is suposto sound like with a front mount or are there some issues going on here?

wow. Please tell me you posted this from a phone.

So far you are describing the famous "horse sneeze" It's normal when you raise the boost and let off b/c the air between the turbo and air filter doesn't have anywhere else to go. It ends up going backwards.

The other issue with the W/G solenoid one side should have a line going to a y one to the turbo compressor side and the other goes to the W/G. The other line should be left open with no tape.

What I meant is iv always had that flutter but since iv added a fmic and took that tape off the flutter seems to be a slow flutter rather then before it was quick now it's deeper and slower I guess the best way to try to describe it... When you left off it gives you the do do do do before was quick now it's like a 2 sec pause do......do....do.......do..... I hope that makes sence this is kinda hard to describe

When I went to a FM mine did not get slower, just louder?? Keep the end of the WG solenoid open (better to have some foam around it), but I can't say why it's "slower" deeper could be from the FM as well.

It's making me wonder why the old owner of the car had it taped in the 1st place I gotta say this is a little odd it really dosnt sound like any gn iv ever herd when you let off its almost like a desil pick up truck

What size turbo are you using? When I put the front mount in my car the flutter noise got quite a bit slower but, when i went to a
larger turbo the noise got faster.

It's a stock turbo but its turned up a decent amount I'm just worried somthing might be wrong
If something was really wrong you would see other symptoms. I would not worry to much about the flutter if you don't feel a corresponding loss of performance.

The volume of the flutter, the speed of the flutter, etc. on my car change depending on how fast the turbo is spinning, how much boost the turbo was making before I lifted, etc. If I'm going part-throttle and let-off, I get the dodododododo (very rapid pulses). If I'm at heavy WOT making 17 psi of boost and let-off, I get more of the doooooo dooooooo doooooo (pulses last much longer, and are louder). The exact frequency and volume of the flutters depend on many things. Since you increased the volume of air between the turbo outlet and throttle body by adding the FMIC, it makes sense to my engineering brain that the pulses would get longer (lower frequency). It will take more time for each pressure pulse to build and then dissipate when the volume of air is larger.

As stated above, if you don't see any other problems, you probably don't need to worry about it.

Ah alright makes sence there's no loss of power with the car well none that I could tell anyways maybe I'm just being paranoid but thanks for all the replays and your help once again
