Extremely rare unassigned GNX turbo. There is no looseness in the turbine. The cleanliness of the unit suggests it was not on any vehicle very long.I have been asked by a wealth friend to sell this item. He has told me he bought this unit from McClaren/ASC back in the 1980 and it has been sitting in dry storage ever since. The story I have been told is that it was used at McClaren/ASC in-house, for testing and that it was a unit that was never assigned to a car. I contacted Doug Nigro at the GNX registry and his email response confirm the history given to me by the owner. Mr. Nigro said:
Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, it is a GNX turbocharger plate and serial.
Unfortunately, on initial review of records, that number does not seem to correspond with a built GNX - perhaps it was an unused leftover. I will investigate further.
I also had Mike at Full Throttle Speed look at it. He confirm that it is a genuine GNX unit, is in excellent condition and had very little use. You can contact me to buy this unit or Mike. He said he would respond to the posting, so look at this thread for his comments. $2750 or best offer. Thanks.
