Turbo Noise

What kind of noise will i hear from my turbo if it is bad? Where do i check p.s.i. at the intake, where is the check point?

Hello;

I never heard a noise when a lost my turbo , it just wouldn't make boost . it wouldn't go over 8# , even with the wastegate rod shortened has short has it would go.

With the engine off & cold , remove the down pipe and check the turbine wheel for side to side and in & out play. There will be some side to side play , but not enough for the wheels to hit the housing. , How ever there should be NO in & out play.

Be careful not to damage the wheel.

To check p.s.i., find the boost light switches located in the center of the firewall behind the engine. Tap the gauge into these lines for vac/boost readings.
