Turbo on buick Century

Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone out there knew if I could install a turbo on a 1994 Buick Century. It is a four cylinder but was curious if it could be done.

Welcome Pilgrim! Good to have you aboard.
2nd-It's possible, but price prohibitive. You could probably purchase a cheap TR for the cost of creating a turbo set-up. May consider a pro-charger if there is one available. This is just my opinion, there maybe a kit out there, I just never heard of it. maybe the other guys may have knowledge of one. I know pointiac had a 4cyl t/charged model. maybe they are the same engines, at least that would give you a cheaper starting point. Hope this helps.:biggrin:

Thanks SHADOWII I will look into the pontiac and see if it is the same. I dont mean to sound like an idiot but what is a TR? I couldn't figure it out. Lastly what would be the difference between a turbo charger and a procharger?? Thanks for the advice.

Don't know about a 4 banger but there's a nice V6 3800 one in the hybred section. He built it himself and did a really good job. Haven't heard from him in a while but he even built a posi for the tranny.

Turbo-Regal=TR, An idiot wouldn't ask, there's no such thing as a foolish question when trying to learn. the procharger is a supercharger that looks like a turbo but belt driven. They are used in many applications, but the price tags are 2.5k + May I suggest, the best option for you might be to run w/what you have and save for the car you really want. If the car is a TR, then spend a lot of time reading up on them to get yourself up to speed and you won't be making the mistakes of first time buyers trying to stay ahead of the learning curve.
