I was recently looking at the T-netics site and noticed they had a new series of turbos, at least I think they are new.

They are in-between the Y2K turbos and the regular T series.

They look like a small Y2K turbo.

Anyone running one of these yet?

Right on Scott, they have the larger compressor housing. I have acouple of them at the shop, 1 with a 70 comp wheel and a P trim turbine, the other with a Q trim. I'll have them at Cecil County this weekend to check out.

 I didn't see a 70 listed? 72 was the smallest I saw.

Would a 70 be TSM legal in a super T?;)

Hp rating?

A couple of guys with a Stage II car out here went from dual T66s to a pair of the Super 70mm turbos. The car spools like a raped ape, so well infact that they had to adjust the ramp rate of the boost to keep the front end on the ground.

Hate to thread hijack but....

Jack..... bring a big bottle of RMI-25 with you to Cecil. I need it!

Hmmmmmm

Jack, here is the proposed TSM turbo rules for 2005. Does the Turbonetics 70 comply?

Turbo
· Single 3-bolt turbo only.

· Maximum size compressor wheel is 70mm. Inlet bore should not exceed 71.5mm to allow for machining tolerances on a 70mm compressor wheel.

· *No sleeves, welding or cold weld epoxy on any exterior surface of the turbo compressor housing to allow a larger than 70mm compressor wheel to be installed is allowed.

· *Note: One of the following turbine exhaust housings is allowed. A Garrett 3-bolt .63 or .82, a PTE 3-bolt .63 or .85 or a Turbonetics #20240-63 or #20240-82 that was available prior to November 1 of the previous year.

· Any air intake to turbo allowed.

· Any wastegate configuration acceptable, external wastegate(s) must be plumbed back into the exhaust system, no external dumps allowed.

Garrett has a new compressor housing out that will flow as well, if not better, than the Super T housings.

Precision has them on some turbos, but I am not sure if you can get them on the smaller TR turbos.

I talked to a Turbo Guru, and he tells me that the new housings are KILLER!! THey will not make much of a difference on the smaller turbos, but will kick some booty on larger turbos.

As of yet, Limit does not have them, but I keep asking.
