TURBOREGAL TH200R4-What is this code??

I found an 83 TType in the junkyard and it has a TH200R4. I checked the ID plate on the side of the box and it has a B on one side of the plate and an R on the other side. On my 87, has BR on one side and F on the other. Any chance this is the same trans. w/ same valve body? TIA

If I remember correctly, the 83 used the BR code as well as 86-87. (84-85 were BQ.)

If it is an 83, it's not the same as an 86-87 BR. One way to tell would be to look for the date code on the ID tag. See here.

Thanks for the info, Greg. I'll take another look at it to check the date. I may also pull down the pan and look for pink paint and BR3 on the valve body. Who knows what I may discover? Probably nuthin'........
