Scott you did get away with robbery with that one: the car is gorgeous! If the seller is motivated (as in desperate) then yes a good deal can be found on occasion but it is a sad truth that you have to be careful with whom you are dealing. Got burned a couple of years ago on a GN like that. Seller was upfront about the quarters and decklid being rusty, but failed to mention how bad the floors and frame rails were.

come on, you know you had a smile on your face when you were typing that. you got a screaming deal on a beautiful car. my hat's off to you sir.

You may look at the car now and think I got a hell of a deal but honestly the car needed ALOT of work to make it look like it does now. And I don't think the old owner was too desperate, He said he was going to buy a pool!! lol.. The car has been in my garage ever since I bought it, It's only been around the block a couple times thats it! It's been constant work on it for three weeks from moring till about 2:00-3:00am in the morning.

BUT! NO RUST! & MORE MODS for Less than $10k

Keep up the hard work Scot. It is looking great. Give me a call when you get a chance and let me know if the body bushings need replaced, I might make a trip to knoxville to help out!! :D

Let me add this as well, if the car was misrepresented as it relates to rust, the seller should be bound to return the money and pick up the car at his expense. The add ons are nice, but in no way equal the amount of time and money that it will require to fix major rust issues.

I went through this same issue with a seller. I even looked at the car, but could not tell the floor pans were in such bad shape. Also, I was standing in Buffalo, NY with a one way plane ticket! If the rust issues are as bad as described there is at least 5-7K worth of repair to make it right, IMHO.

Do the right thing and make it right!

I guess the car is Sold now! But, Yes it should have been taken care of buy the seller and not " But you got a great deal, all those spare parts you got with it" Reply. Instead he should have tried to work something out. There are other members here who posted about getting burned from this very same guy..

Thats funny, I too picked up my old GN in Buffalo with a one way plane ticket. I was told in an email that "there is no rust at all on the car". I found out differently over the years of working on the car. It truly is a shame you can't trust anyone even in your own community.

sorry to hear you got a car from him that was misrepresented. I got one from him too

Buffalo, a town I will never visit again. My first mistake was going through ebay. I should have kept my business on this board but thought I was getting a good deal. Won't make that mistake again, I now do all my business through this board or it's vendors. We should all work to make this a place where people can do business freely and without fear of misrepresentation.

As far as the seller in this case, if you can see the rear tires through the body of the car, there is a major disclosure problem.

To the seller, please do the right thing and take the car back! Have some honor and make your word what it should be. If not, crawl back into your hole and stay away from this board and the people here! No offense, but it is your choice to do the right thing here and only your conscience can guide you to what decision you will make.

Unfortunately, it was here that I made the deal 8 years ago.

Well im sorry i did not check the car over as well as i should of but every car since this i have checked very well and anything that shows to be wrong i have either fixed or made sure the buyer know,s for sure so again im sorry for the car not being what we both thought it was I DID NOT REMOVE THE BACK SEAT TO SEE THIS RUST.IF I HAD HE WOULD HAVE TOLD HIM I TRULY THOUGHT THIS CAR WAS A GOOD FOR 6,000 AND THIS WHY I ALWAYS TAKE PICTURES OF THE FLOORS AND OFFER ANY OTHER PICTURES PEOPLE WOULD LIKE TO SEE.THIS WAS A 1 TIME THING BY ME NOT GOING OVER THE CAR LIKE I SHOULD THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.
