Tranny flares during shifts. Never used to.
I can only get one "click" on the cable, leaving about 6 notches showing.
Did I get a kink in my dink by installing the new body mounts?
Cable is discontinued.
If mine is stretched, how would I know whether or not another used one wouldn't be also?
Thanks
Paul

ugh... they just now discontinued it to from what i'm told.

I ordered one a couple weeks ago at the dealer and didnt hear from them for a few days saying it was in, so we called and they said after I ordered it they discontinued it, but there's one in Georgia if I want to call them and make a deal (then I don't get the shop rate)

If you call your dealer they can find out if other dealers have one and you can make a deal to get it from that dealer. Theres still a few new GM ones on shelves out there.

Also, i'd think if you got a kink in the cable it wouldnt move hardly. Can you still get the full motion in and out with the cable and it just doesnt adjust?

My cable was messed up in the ratcheting mechanism. It got really tight and impossible to get the tab to move at all without a lot of force, so it wouldnt ratchet itself out anymore.

replacement TV cable

I broke mine on my S10 with a 700R4 one time while re-installing my 350 engine. I was able to buy a universal TV cable that had an adjustable end on it to make the cable adjustable length.... and I think the housing telescoped too.... like halfway down the cable towards the trans..... you just customized it to fit...... I am sure there is something available for the 2004R as well..... I wouldn't be suprised at all if the TV cable for the 2004R was the same as the 700R4. Mine worked fine for probably 6-8 years until I recently sold the truck.
