i found a place real close to my workplace .He charged me 100.00 to chrome my turbo shield.
i spent 40.00 on an unmodified cover, grinded it to fit my downpipe. So im thinkin 150.00 for a chrome turbo shield is great.
ive never had any chroming done, just bought parts that r chrome already.
is that a good price?i havent seen it yet but he does Harley Parts for a living. All the stuff i saw was beautiful.
this is cali, everything is expesive, especially chemicals the EPA is hard on.
whats a typical price on chroming valve covers, turbo shields, etc in other parts of the country?
if it turns out good ive got a few other things to have done.

It's so much more than it was 20 years ago and then was more than it was 10 years before that. I hear the EPA has just about regulated all but the tenacious out of business, hence the cost increase..

I had two full-size car bumpers rechromed in 1992 and they were about $300 each. Today it is around $1,000 each from what I hear.

On the other hand, in 1982 I had a pair of steel valve covers, brake reservior cap, dipstick, radiator hold down, radiator neck, a/c and alt brackets all chromed for my Cutlass and it was about $300 for all that and the quality was nice! After I got it all on the engine, a year later I found that I hated cleaning chrome under the hood on a daily driver. Oh well, such are the choices young 20 year olds make.

I think you got the best price you will get.
