Who sells up and down pipe?what size should i get? Also what size is stocker?I just bought a liquid filled boost gauge what is boost on stocker? What is safe number on 94 octane?Do pipes make seat of pants power.one more question turbo who has good $$ and pipes$$ I need some heavy info. THANK YOU as we all can see im serious about getting this car to run and i need some help to get it where i want it.

1. ATR
Up Pipe 89.95 + 11.95 copper gasket.
Downpipe 129.99 (DP nearly 170 after shipping)

2. Stock up pipe: small, who cares, get an atr replacement
Stock DP somewhere between 2.0 and 1.5.. varies through bends, it is double walled and NOT mandrel bent.

3. Stock boost should be nearly 14psi, although it varies on some cars, anywhere under 15psi is safe until you get fuel system upgrades. should be around 8-14psi though.

4. Yes, providing you already have a 340 fuel pump, hotwire kit, and adjustable regulator, you'lll feel a tremendous difference. If you dont, you wont, because your car will most likely knock itself to death

5. um? yea. before you buy any turbo related parts, go buy:
Walbro 340 Fuel pump $90-120
Hotwire kit $35-$55
Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator $65-150

those, if you dont already have them, are REQUIRED before you add any other parts to the car. REQUIRED.

Get those then add the downpipe and a K&N or cold air package. That, along with a little tuning, will knock full seconds off your 1/4mi. time, expecially with race chip and race gas. Try that, then worry about larger turbos and injectors.

Make sure you have a Fuel Pressure gauge and a good Boost gauge also - a scantool never hurts either.

I wouldn't say the a fuel pump is required. I still have the stock unit in mine. I ran 23 pds of boost at the track with 110 octane fuel. I now have to get a walbro because I intercooled.

A fuel pump is a MUST in my book - it really wakes most cars up, as does the hotwire.

but the question is why? why take that chance to **** up your 50,000mi motor because of a $90 fuel pump? did you run 13.42@98 mph with all the stuff in your sig, that fuel pump, and 23psi?

if so, maybe thats why you only ran 2 tenths faster than me with a whole crap load more parts and stickies..

The downpipe is a worth it, but will the up-pipe really help? Especially for $100. I never heard of anyone gaining with an up-pipe, but then I have never heard of anyone just changing the up-pipe alone.

Yes a bigger up-pipe will flow more, but it will lower the exhaust velocity making for slower spool-up. They might negate each other. Stock vs aftermarket headers probaly makes a big difference in whether a bigger up-pipe is worthwhile. A side-by-side comparison on a stock engine would great.

I would get the DP and use the $100 for a fuel pump. If hotwire kits are really $35-55, consider going to www.gnttype.org and making one yourself for ~$10. It's not complicated.

I have not encountered any spool up problems with the ATR up pipe. Bottom line though, if yours isn't cracked or otherwise scrap, then stick with it. If it needs to be replaced, the ATR piece is great. But it doesn't give you any more power. The downpipe, on the other hand, is definately worth it, especially on mostly street driven cars. My turbo spools way faster with it, and the car seems to run smoother overall.

i have never heard of anyone having an INTACT stock up pipe.. everyone's is always cracked at the bellows... so if yours is okay, great, but things with bellows in them dont flow so great so keep that in mind.

I am buying the racetronix kit next week. I just didn't need the pump till I intercooled. Then at the track the pump couldn't keep up anymore. Before the I/C the numbers from the turbolink were always real good.
