Upgrading to the powered antenna possible?

I have an 87 GN that came with the standard antenna. Is it possible to upgrade this tot he powered antenna that raises up and down? If so is any additional hardware required?

I've installed aftermarket Power Antenna's and they work fine (no stock head unit) so I don't see why you couldn't install the factory one.

In addition to the Antenna itself you'll need the bracket that mounts it to the fender.

With all the problems our power antennas have I don't think it would be worth the effort.

Anything is possible though. You would need the relay that goes behind the glovebox door, the power antenna itself and brackets. Might also need all the associated wiring harnesses as well. Not sure if the harness is there if the car did not have the PA option.
