Does anyone know of a way to re-route the upper radiator hose so it is not near the intake hoses? Right now I have a Big Mouth cold air system. I noticed that the upper radiator hose runs under this. The cold air system rests on top of the hose. This is heating up the intake hose defeating the purpse of the cold air to a degree. Has anyone re-routed the upper hose to come off the radiator at a 90 degree angle, run across the upper radiator support, then 90 degree turn and go straight into the upper hose intake on the engine. I think this will keep some heat from the intake.

I saw this felxible copper radiator hose but I'm not going to spend $200 for just an upper hose.

Hi Dale,

Right in my directions that are sent with my Big Mouth kits is a part about how to address if the radiator hose is too close. Just drain a bit of coolant below the level of where the upper hose attaches to the radiator. Trim off about 1" or so of the end of the hose, reattach and fill back up with coolant and you are done. Here are some pics of the installation on my GN to show you how much clearance there is.

If you are talking about where the radiator hose goes under the MAF pipe, you should have plenty of clearance there if using the 3" pipe, clearance can get a bit tight when using the 3.5" MAF pipe but that is easily fixed by rotating the adapters.

I know FLYINGN has done a relocation of his upper hose using sections of pipe and maybe he will chime in here.

Look at the MAF relocation article at the GNTtype site and you can see how I did mine. Just 1.25" chromed bathroom pipeing for the straight sections.

Yes I made this upper hose about 2 years ago.. Its very easy and works great. I even made one for someone. It was NOT cheap because I used medical grade polished stainless elbows and silicone hoses and high quality stainless clamps.. You can do the same using lesser materials for a lot cheaper. Heres pics
