 I had my '87 Limited tested for emissions last week, and it failed. I knew the car had a gutted cat, so I ordered a new one online. According to UPS, it was delivered to the front porch yesterday at 12:11 pm. My wife always goes home for lunch at 1:00, and she said there was nothing there. I looked everywhere, and asked around at a few neighbors houses to see if they had seen a truck, or accidentally received the package, but no luck. I called UPS about it, and they weren't much help at all, saying I'd have to contact the vendor about a refund or replacement. To me, that's bullsh*t... They did their part. The screwup is on UPS, IMO.
This pisses me off even more because I get a free retest within 30 days, and I can't be wrapped up in some lost package paperwork for weeks... And I sure as Hell don't want to have to order and pay for another cat....

Anyone ever dealt with something like this? :(

We deal with this all the time at my work. Luckily for us though we order from the same vendors about every day. We called the vendr and they sent us a replacement at no cost to us and they delt with UPS. WHen I have stuff delivered to my house I require a signature that way they wont just leave it on the door step.

Sorry to hear about your problem. Contact the vendor and have them call UPS on your behalf. Good luck.

ups sucks---you need to get on the phone everyday. maybe take the time to look for the driver in your area and talk to him. chance's are he left it at another house. they lost a transmission in a large shipping case we sent to ca. then said the ins. we paid for wasnt covering the lost. i was mad. we call them everyday and after a while we talk to a lady and emailed her photos of another trans and shipping box. and the next day they found our stuff in ut. so just stay after them. and call the vendor.

Situation resolved, case closed....

Called UPS again, and explained the situation to another person, he said that the driver of my route was informed and would check on it. My wife went home for lunch and the box was on the back porch, so he must have dropped it at the wrong address, or punched it into his PDA as shipped when he was in the driveway, then forgot to actually take it out of the truck, lol

Rat bastards stressed me out :D

Considering the amount of packages they handle, it isn't unusual to have a package or two misplaced from time to time. All and all, they tend to give the best service and customer service we have found. It still doesn't minumizing the effects it has on someone that is waiting for a time sensitive part such as this. It's great they followed thru for you and got it handled.
