Using Synthetic on tranny and is TS syn good?

Just out of curiousity, (I am a dummy to transmissions), will synthetic hurt a fresh tranny, (like it would a fresh engine). For example, a new engine needs to be broken in with snake oil etc. Is this the case for trannies? Or can you go right to synthetic. Also, how do you guys like the Trick Shift Synthetic?
