Hey guys i wanted to know if any one could give me some info on the V series intakes, how many they made, and the BIG QUESTION!! DOES ANY ONE HAVE ONE FOR SALE. IF So............I HAVE CASH IN HAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its this intake that was made for the hot airs to add an intercooler. i think its called the V1 intake  but i wanted to see what every one knew about them.

Theres a V1 V2 and V3 just depeneds if he wants to stay hotair or not. the V1 is a gutted hotair intake but still doesnt use a intercooler the v2 was the intake that looks like a 87 intake but its a modified hotair intake that that you would use a intercooler. the V3 is the same intake design as the V2 but still runs in the hotair form. if you to intercool your car you want the V2 intake setup

You can also use an 86/87 intake manifold if you want IC your hot air. I am working on this right now for my hot air with the assistance of Mark Greene who has already done this and has had great results. There is some fabrication needed, but i'll be making multiples and will be working with Mark Greene and Brian Weavy to offer the parts for sale for anyone interested.

Do you think you coulde email me with an exact list of what parts i will need for the 87 deal, and then some basic idea of how to go about it. Heres my email udtfrogman_9@hotmail.com or PM when ever you have time. SO WHICH IS MORE SIMPLE BETWEEN THE TWO: THE V2 or 87 intake, im guessing the V! Are the V2s VERY hard to find, i did a search on them and NOTHING CAME UP????

I've got a friend with the V3 intake. Last time I talked to him he wanted to sell it. Let me know if you're interested and I'll ask him what he wants for it.

I have the V 2 setup on my 84 and I put an 86/87 intake
setup on my 85. IMHO the 86/87 intake is simpler and
cleaner and easier to do than the V 2, and I have
done both, even fabbing all the parts for the 85.
If you have the modified thermostat outlet tube
and upper plenum, then it is almost a plug and play.
The only other part to be fabbed is the pipe from
the turbo to the IC.
If Nathyn and Brian get involved in selling these parts,
IMHO this is the way to go, hands down!
Either is a performance upgrade for the hot air
cars, but the V 2 just looks rough and the 86/87
intake setup looks like a factory retrofit upgrade, IMHO.
I am considering taking the V 2 off my 84 and
changing to the 86/87 intake setup for this reason.

If you going to go intercooled, save yourself time and money and go with the 86/87 stock intake, headers, downpipe, etc. It will cost you a little more up front, but once you start modding the beast it will cost you less. There are a ton of go fast parts out there for the 86/87s.
For pics of V2 intake, click on the link in my sig. -Nick.

So which is more easy to install. PLUS i am sure their are a few things to fabricate with the 87 setup , rather with the V3 everything is already their. Yes WH1 i would be very intrested, i sent you a pm.... dont know if you got it

6 to go could i see some pics of your 87 setup :) . Sorry for the last post you just answered my question. SO OVER ALL THEIR IS LESS TO FAB WITH THE 87 setup??

I have an V2 intake on my 85 GN. Only thing that was a pain in the ass was running the intercooler pipe to and from my Powerstroke Diesel intercooler. Other than that, no problems. I actually bought my car with the intake already on it. Here is a pic of my setup as of now.

Wow nate that looks great :D what times has the car run so far???

okay so as of now can i get the plenum and
thermostat from Nathyn or Brian ????

Thanks, I appreciate it.

I havent really run the car yet. Bought the car and immediately tore it down and started my rebuild. The guy I bought it off of turned a best time of 12.29 @ 111 mph. We will see what I can do with her!

Not as easy as it sounds

I was running a front mounted 87 TB with the 84/85 computer. I decided to install an 86/87 ECM and MAT sensor and LS1 MAF w/translator, The engine now stumbles when I hit the accelerator. I checked the TPS(86/87 version) and got 4.46V with the throttle closed and key on.

The TPS seems to be sending WOT voltage signal to the ECM at idle. Anyone have any ideas? I guess I could have started another thread but that would just be a duplication.

BTW - I am using the 86/87 TPS and IAC.
