Valve spring locks & retainers ?

Just looking for some input. Anyone noticed any difference in the 10 degree locks and retainers over the stock 7 degree?? What about the steel locks versus machined steel?? Thanks for the input.

We don't run near the poundage or RPM to need to start screwing with extra degrees. I've never heard of one failure from a 7 degree lock that could have been avoided by going with a 10.

As far as the locks go, same thing, but if you're buying new one's machined locks are pretty much the same price as stamped ones... inconsequential.

I have always ran 7 degree stuff in my smalls block with comp retainers and regular 7 degree locks. I have a bare set of heads and have to buy everything. Howards has a crazy deal on 7 degree machined locks right now. They are cheaper than the stamped ones because they bought so many.
