My 200r4 makes upshifts fine but cannot make a downshift to D2, the motor just revs up like in Neutral until the throttle is lifted, letting it slam back into D3.
What I've done...
I narrowed the problem down to the valvebody by taking one from another tranny and it fixed the problem. So, wanting to use the original valvebody I have tried and tried to fix it.
I dissassembled the valvebody and verified valvetrains with the CK rebuild manual. All was okay, so I cleaned everything and reassembled. STILL had the problem.
The valvebody from the other tranny that worked had the CK recalibration kit in it. So, I tried to replicate that in the problem Vbody. I replaced the accumulator valve spring with a stiffer one. I also replaced the weak line bias valve with an aluminum dowel (from a shift kit). Then double checked all valves were moving freely. STILL had the problem.
With my understanding, I have done everything to the problem Vbody and it still won't work like the other one.
Guys, what can it be? Please.
