Very new to this need help

I have a 3.8l turbo motor. I believe it came out of a 1978 regal. But i am not for sure is there anyway to tell? It has a turbo specific distributor and its carbeurated. I could use any information or any advice about this motor thanks.

check out the before black section. too bad it's a '78 rather than an '87.
