volume of coolant?

I’m looking to add antifreezes to the radiators for the winter. I was wondering if any one knows what is the volume of coolant in stock TRs so that I can do the % right?

Normally it should be 50/50 but Id put a little more coolant if its in cold storage this winter.You can buy an antifreeze tester at a parts store for a couple bucks.Its just a little tube with balls that float when you test your coolant and it tells how cold the coolant is good for.

I did not know that you could get a tester. I'm not doing a flush. That is why I was looking for the volume.

What do you all think about going to 70/30 (water/anti) mix. I have Red Line wetter in and it works best with all water. It does not get that cold here. What do you think?

Not sure what you mean by that statement? Waterwetter is NOT and additive for protection, but a surficant for better heat transfer.

Hey Nick,

What I was trying to say is that I would like to put as little as possibly antifreezes in my cooling system. I know I need to have sufficient antifreezes for the coolant not to freeze, of course. I also know that the more antifreezes that I add, the less efficient the heat transfer is with the waterwetter. This may not be a big deal (maybe going a little crazy, ) because it is getting cold out any ways. But I would like to keep my cooling tem down for those odd days in the fall that it is in the 70s or 80s. Hope that this is clearer?!?!

Complete system holds 4 gallons. Optimum mix is 50/50 and the antifreeze containers have a table of mix to freeze protection. [I think this is still true as it has been years since I have used it!]

For complete winter protection with the proper mix, use 8 ozs. of RMI-25 for a surficant and corrosion protection. For the 80 degree winter days, it should run plenty cool with a system in good condition containing antifreeze.
