Wow. Apples to oranges there. Hard to vote. The Countach is truly the quintessential 80's car IMO. Of course I would much rather have a F40 or 288 GTO. They should have broken that up into categories.
the Citation X11 was the car that proved to GM that performance wasn't dead and that you could do it with an otherwise boring car..
and why did they show a pic of an 87 or newer 5.0 Mustang, when it was the 84 Mustang 5.0 that was the first one that showed the potential of that car/engine combo with it's 4 barrel Holley carb and dual exhaust.. the Mustang SVO showed what a pony car could do with a turbocharged fuel injected 4 cylinder in much the same way the tubocharged fuel injected V6 showed what a small engine could do in a midsize car when Buick put it in the TR's in 84..
but honestly, what kid of the 80's didn't have a poster of a Countach on their wall?
I love how every picture is a staged picture or race picture but their all from the era...Then the GN is at the drag strip laying down some nice rubber hahaha
^^^^^That actually made me smile. The RUF Yellowbird actually was burning some rubber The F40 is arguably the baddest car ever made. It also costs more than most houses. And it also was made in the 90's. I think for pure 80's car the Countach must win. It is not my favorite car, it is not the best car, but it is the best 80's icon. But then again we have unobtainable icon. The Buick was the street icon. Back in late 80's (and pretty much very early 90's) nothing short of a Pro Street car or white a knuckled 400 NOS shot car could touch it. That thing was bad a$$ on the streets.
I really love the Audi Quattro and the M3. Oh and the 959 is awesome!
