walbro 340 question

I have a walbro 340 installed on my car. It has less than 400 miles on it. I didnt notice until yesterday when someone pointed out that it is very loud. It almost sounds like a door alarm going off constant. like a high whistle or chime, hard to explain.. Is this normal???

Walbros are loud but if the tank is near empty they will be even louder. That was one thing I noticed when I went to the Denso pump was the silent operation.
