I use the external 'gate to control my boost, do I really need the wastegate solenoid. I wouldn't mind "cleaning" up the area and removing the vacuum hoses from the solenoid to the turbo and 'gate.
TIA

No you won't need it but I would leave it plug in for the computer will read a trouble code, you can also put a resistor in paralell so you won't have to leave the soleniod in.

Now the question is can I just cap off the ports on the turbo and the wastegate or do I leave them open? and I assume I just leave the ports on the wastegate solenoid end open?

Thanks guys!!

Well you need some way to operate the wastegate, so you can't cap it off. You can either replace the solenoid with a bleeder valve, or you can just run a line from the turbo to the wastegate and adjust the wastegate rod length (if you have an adjustable wastegate rod).
