water pump pulley

Ok here's a stupid question. What's the easiest way to remove the water pump pulley? The engine is out of the car.

 
Not sure what you mean...remove the 4 bolts...if you mean how do you remove the bolts and keep the pulley from spinning use an impact...
 
Umm...what studs?...it has 4 bolts...you can put a pry bar between them and hold the pulley but it always slipped off for me when I applied any force
 
One of mine had studs, but your right, factory is bolts.

Prybar always worked for me. Key is to keep the belt on to break them loose.

I just went through this when i replaced my water pump last weekend. Held the pulley with my left hand to keep it from spinning and unbolted with my right. They were tight but I was able to unbolt without too much hassle.

And if that won't get it, wrap the belt around the pulley and let the pulley rotate the belt part-way around itself like a strap wrench.
