Weakening Brakes

My brakes seem to be getting weaker, earlier I was inspecting the power master to see if I saw anything obviously wrong and I noticed around the weather-pack with the three wires on top of the power master (I think thats the pressure switch, not completely sure though) there there seems to be a little bit of fluid around it.

So, if a little fluid is being lost around there can that loose pressure and weaken the brakes? What should I do, replace the switch? or is it possible (assuming that it is screwed in) to put teflon tape around the threads?

I would think that a VERY light amount of fluid there is residual? Kinda how oil/crankcase vapors make it appear there is an oil leak....If it were truely leaking there, with the pressure inside the system, that spot should get worse and worse and of course wetter. I dont know why you wouldnt be able to pull that switch and put some type of sealant on it. You could also have a seal bad inside the master cylinder that is bleeding pressure by when you apply the brakes.

I had fluid around that switch. I bought a new switch. When I pulled the old one, I found out why I had a small leak - the O-ring was gone. Dissolved apparently.

Try removing the switch to look at it. If your O-ring is gone, just take it to the parts store and get another O-ring, or you can re-install it with teflon tape on the threads to seal it up... or both.

I pulled the switch out this morning to try and stop the leak, but it appeared that the leak was not coming from that area. The o-ring was intact. There is definately a leak somewhere, because the fluid is landing on the bracket that holds the electric motor and is causing it to rust. I cant seem to find the leak for the life of me though.
