Does anyone recommend anythig for removeal the left over weatherstrip and glue. Need to get it all off before I paint and install the new stuff. What will cut the glue and dried rubber? Got leftover glue on trunk seal and left over glue and dried out rubber on door strip and roof rail strip.

3M General Purpose Adhesive Remover...good stuff...it's fine if you get it on paint that has cured for a long time but don't get any of the stuff on any new paint...will take it right off...brush some on the old weatherstrip and adhesive...let it soak for a few minutes...then scrape off...use a plastic putty knife so you don't scratch the metal...

Next time warm the old stuff with a heat gun and it will damn near come off in 1 peice and leave hardly any reisdue.

10-4 yall , i'll look for some of the 3m remover at the paint store. I thought about the heat gun deal but didn't have one handy. It started to come off in one piece so i thought i was o.k. but then all dry rot broke loose half way through. Thank guys.
